Our Values

One team. Four values. 100% Fuller’s. Our values guide us all, every day – and help us make sure that we’re staying true to the enduring spirit of Fuller’s.

We celebrate the true you

As you visit our pubs, you'll notice that they all have their individual and unique charm. We like to be different and from our pubs to our people we believe that everyone should be able to express their unique character. We encourage freedom of thought, creativity and embrace diverse personalities that make us who we are. Fuller's is a place where everyone can be who they are and make a real difference.

We do things the right way

We're not in the business of telling people what to do. Doing things the right way isn't about being dictated to, it's about using your initiative to do what is right. Having a genuine passion and enjoyment for your job, taking care in tasks with great attention to detail in everything you do. Being dedicated to your team, customers and pub. Bringing a positive can-do attitude to any challenge.

We’re all part of the family

Fuller's has always been a family business and the family is getting bigger and bigger. We pride ourselves on our culture, working as one team to create a warm sense of belonging where every member is valued and where we can be honest with each other. We look out for each other and our communities, creating environments based on trust. In short, we have your back.

We’re always thinking ‘What’s next?’

We don't sit still – we are always looking for ways to enhance how we do things. A restless passion to continuously improve, experiment and make things better. It's not only up to our leaders to ask what's next? We challenge all of our team members to do the same. We believe in embracing the best from our past, thinking creatively about our future, and always changing for the better.

I’ve come a long way…literally!

Magdalena's story

When I graduated in Logistics from a university in Poland, I had no idea that I’d end up living and working in England. But sometimes, life just works out that way.

I came here in 2017 because my boyfriend was working at Bel & the Dragon, in Churt. Our plan was that we’d stay in this country for a couple of months. I’d learn to speak English and then we’d head back to Poland.

Our plans changed when I was offered a job as a Housekeeper at Bel & the Dragon, looking after 18 beautiful boutique bedrooms alongside two other team members. After doing that for a couple of months, I joined the front-of-house team working on the morning shifts – earning the name ‘Breakfast Queen’! This was the perfect role for me as I met lots of different people every day – and had plenty of opportunities to practice my English. I loved the fact that I could get to know many of our returning guests, remembering their names and their breakfast preferences. And it was so great to see that many of them remembered me too! In April 2018, things took another unexpected turn. I was offered the position of Trainee Assistant Manager which I gladly accepted. And that summer I did the WSET Level 2 course – which I passed with distinction, while discovering my love for oaked Chardonnay! Before long I was promoted again to Assistant Manager, then Deputy Manager, until I progressed to my current position as General Manager at Bel & the Dragon in Kingsclere. I’m so grateful that Fuller’s has allowed me to constantly progress, becoming qualified along the way in everything from cellar management and food and safety, right through to fire marshal and mental health first aider. I’ve been here five years now – and honestly, I can’t imagine working anywhere else.
